The AoFAQ Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrilltion (QCF) qualification has been developed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to administer basic life support and use an AED in an emergency.
Many victims of sudden cardiac arrest could be saved if an initial shock could be delivered within the first few minutes. Early defibrilltion and effective CPR are vital in the chain of survival following a cardiac arrest. This course is able to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to operate the AED safely.
Course Contents Include:
- Cardiovascular and respiratory systems
- Ventricular Fibrillation and Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- Adult and child CPR
- Practical use of AED
- Care and maintenance of AED
Length of Course:
This course is approved and regulated by AoFAQ and upon successful completion of the course and a final assessment candidates will be awarded a certificate of competence in the use of AED, as per Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines, valid for 1 year.
