Glasgow – First Aid at Work
Overview: The FAIB Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification is designed for anyone who needs to or would like to become an accredited first aider in the workplace or to undertake a requalification course to keep their current first aider status. This regulated qualification is in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and 1982 (N.I.) and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with first aid situations in low and high risk work environments. Certification is valid for 3 years. As this is a Regulated Qualification, an Employer who obtains training from an FAIB Approved Centre is not required to carry out any due diligence on the training provider in order to ensure the suitability of the training (HSE statement). Course Contents Include:
- First Aid Regulations 1981 and (NI) 1982
- Record keeping and communication
- Scene safety
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Management of an unconscious casualty
- Control of Bleeding
- Shock
- Burns and Scalds
- Musculo-skeletal injuries
- Eye injuries
- Poisoning
- Recognition and treatment of common medical conditions
Length of course: 3 Days from 09.00 – 16.30 Course Certification: Upon successful completion of the course and final assessments candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work approved for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and 1982 (NI), which is valid for 3 years.
