Alcohol and Young People

This course is aimed at sixth form colleges, university students and young people in general.

It is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol abuse in young people and to encourage them not to walk away, but to develop life-saving skills that can be used if it all goes wrong.

The course will provide students with an underpinning knowledge of the effects of alcohol on the human body and equip them with the necessary Basic Life Support skills to keep someone alive until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services.

  • The effects of alcohol
  • What if it all goes wrong?
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • Management of the unconscious casualty
  • Clearing an obstructed airway

Length of Course

3 Hours

Course Certification:

Continuous assessment of candidates’ skills will take place throughout the course and upon successful completion candidates will be awarded a certificate in Basic Life Support, valid for 1 year.
